About Us

“Contributing to the transformation and renewal of society
through the transformation and renewal of leaders.”

The Trinity Forum is a leadership academy that works to cultivate networks of leaders whose integrity and vision will help renew culture and promote human freedom and flourishing. Our programs and publications offer contexts for leaders to consider together the big ideas that have shaped Western civilization and the faith that has animated its highest achievements.

BenchSince our founding in 1991, we have facilitated seminars, discussions, retreats, and lectures for thousands of leaders in North America, Europe, and Asia. These events feature opportunities for participation in profound reflection and candid conversation about life’s most important issues.

To stimulate thought and discussion, The Trinity Forum has developed an exceptional collection of resource materials that can be used in conjunction with our events or independently by individuals and groups. Stressing both core principles and practical application, Trinity Forum publications address themes including life purpose, meaning, character, leadership, freedom, good and evil, civil society, progress, reform, and philanthropy.

The Trinity Forum Academy follows our approach in a residential setting with emerging leaders just finishing university.

Our Approach

We find and excerpt important literature and create thematic collections, with suitable introductions, to provide access to a broad but focused body of classic and thoughtful writings.

Seats at an amphitheaterA lively, Socratic-style discussion of these writings is then facilitated by skilled moderators so that participants interact with each other respectfully as peers around a common text. Participants are encouraged to consider how these ideas inform the various facets of their lives so that they may reap the benefit of shared stories, experiences, and perspectives.

Lectures are offered when appropriate, but usually consume minimal time. For maximum benefit, participants must actively engage in thinking about, discussing, and applying these concepts rather than passively listening to others. Such discussions have a way of lifting understanding to new and unexpected levels.

We host several programs each year and also make our materials, moderators, and expertise available to meet the specific needs of existing groups in North America and Europe.

Our Distinctives

Our events are open to people of all faiths as well as seekers and skeptics. Our Fellows, Moderators, and staff are followers of Christ who strive to keep our materials and events useful for more than intellectual titillation.

Salisbury Cathedral, setting for The SpireConforming to the best of the religious humanist tradition, we seek and encourage respectful, honest engagement with the texts and other participants, as well as with other faith traditions and philosophies. We prize the pursuit of truth. We emphasize integrity of faith and thought. We also affirm the solemn responsibility of each person, consonant with their deepest convictions, to persuasively and proactively engage their public world.

To remain ignorant of things that happened before you were born is to remain a child. What is a human life worth unless it is incorporated into the lives of one’s ancestors and set in an historical context?
