Rodney Knowles, III

Rod Knowles, a senior Partner of The TriVeritas Group, a diversified financial services organization, has over 35 years experience in financial services in Atlanta. He is a member of the board of the Trinity Forum Academy.

Mr. Knowles served as Chairman, President, and CEO of the Chattahoochee Bank and its holding company. The Chattahoochee Bank was the sixth largest headquartered bank in Georgia and became the largest small business lender in Georgia and one of the largest in the Nation. The bank was one of the most recognized de novo banks of the last two decades and was widely regarded as the prototype in that sector.

After the successful sale of Chattahoochee Bank and before coming to The TriVeritas Group, Mr. Knowles was Managing Director for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and was responsible for the second largest budget at ACOG and managed the largest number of ACOG employees. The Atlanta Olympics was the largest peacetime event in the history of the world.

Prior to his position with the Chattahoochee Bank, Mr. Knowles was Senior Vice President of American Security Insurance Group. American Security deals exclusively with banks and financial institutions worldwide. He was also Senior Vice President and Division Manager of one of six divisions at C&S National Bank (now Bank of America). His responsibilities included management of the Financial Institutions Division, which was one of the largest in the United States.

Mr. Knowles is very active in the community and has served on numerous boards including the YWCA of Greater Atlanta, the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association, U.S.O. of Georgia, Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Bank of North Georgia, Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Good Samaritan Healthcare Center, Resource Capital, Inc., Right from the Heart Ministries, Sound Bank, and The Nature Conservancy of Georgia. He is also a lifetime member of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Davidson College alumni chapter in Atlanta, and is a member of the Board of Visitors of Davidson College. Mr. Knowles has been actively involved in numerous banking associations including: American Bankers Association, Georgia Bankers Association, and Robert Morris Associates, and is a frequent speaker at many events.

Mr. Knowles, a native of North Carolina, is a 1967 graduate of Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He served with the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 as a First Lieutenant, and received numerous decorations for his service in the Republic of Vietnam in 1969.

What I mean by character is a firm, seasoned substance of soul. I mean qualities or acquirements as intelligence, thoughtfulness, conscientiousness, right-mindedness, patience, fortitude, long-suffering and unconquerable resolve.
