Q. How do I apply?

Please send an email to or give us a call at 410-745-4411 to request application materials. You may also download the 2008–09 academic year Cover Letter (PDF 132 KB) and Application and reference forms (PDF 536 KB) here. Feel free to contact the Trinity Forum Academy if you have any questions.

Q. How many fellows are in residency at one time?

The Trinity Forum Academy accepts up to twelve Fellows at a time.

Q. How long does the program last?

Participants commit to stay for one term of 9 months (September to May).

Q. How much does it cost to attend?

Tuition, room, and board are fully subsidized by the Academy. In addition, each Fellow receives a stipend of $150 per month for their study and work.

Q. Where are the Fellows housed?

The Fellows live together in the Windrush House, a large farmhouse on the property of Osprey Point Retreat and Conference Center, in Royal Oak, MD. The House has a spacious living room and dining room with wide-open vistas of the Bay, a study area, a kitchen, laundry facilities, and a large back porch overlooking the water. Students also have access to the Osprey Point library, chapel, fitness center, and game room (ping-pong, pool table, foosball, darts), swimming pool, tennis court, two basketball courts (one indoor, one outdoor), bicycles, canoes, and ocean kayaks.

We do have accommodations to house married couples. However, both spouses must apply and be accepted to the Academy in order for either to attend. We do not have accommodations for couples with children.

Candidates for the Academy should be between the ages of 20-26 and must be willing to commit to stay for at least nine months (one full term). Q. Can Fellows leave the property for a day or weekend?

Yes. Fellows may leave Osprey Point during days off and weekends when guest conferences are not being held. During weekends when there are guests conferences, Fellows cover shifts for each other to allow time for visiting family, attending weddings and graduations, and spending time with friends.

As an aspiring academic, my research will forever be shaped by my experiences and habits developed during this nine-month integration of rigorous coursework and intentional community.
