While Coleridge is widely recognized as one of the founders of the Romantic movement in English literature, which celebrated the imagination and sublimity of nature in poetry and prose, Guite makes the case that he was also a prophet, philosopher, and theologian, whose works brilliantly explore a Trinitarian view of reality, and the re-enchantment of the world that flows from the rekindling of our imagination as a part of God’s image in us.
